Likely, when an author likes the universe he’s created so much (Kurtherian Gambit), they use his name for legitimacy when writing their own tales set in his universe.
Write a book set in Castle Rock, Maine, and while you don’t need Stephen King’s name second (or even as a blurp), it sure would help.
