These are a favorite series of mine and I’m overjoyed that they got Scott Brick to narrate them.

Like many readers Scott Brick over-dramatizes. Author’s are used to dealing with ink on paper and add emotion through the craft of writing so you don’t need to turn it into a movie or play. In Tolkien readings for instance there is no need to actually sing the songs; we are meant to use our imagination, just treat it like poetry.
Donaldson is a gothic-style writer and can be hard to take but his imaginative mythology is beautiful and even meaningful.
