Publisher’s Summary:
Charlie Gault had all the luck. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the good kind.
It was looking like Lady Luck had quite a grudge against him. In fact, at this point merely crashing the multi-billion-dollar ship he had helped design would have felt like winning the lottery compared to his current dilemma. If only he were so lucky. Things had started off all right - that is, until a freak wormhole unexpectedly swallowed his ship, leaving him stranded on an unknown planet far, far from home.
With the crew’s lives at stake, Charlie had no choice but to stop his whining, put on his big boy pants, and step up to save them all, and much to his surprise, it actually looked like he might succeed. Of course, that was when things really went sideways in ways that made merely crashing on an uncharted planet seem like a walk in the park.
Suddenly, faced with alien space pirates, talking dragons, and something that seemed very much like magic, Charlie found himself adrift, feeling like a space age Robinson Crusoe - only his man Friday was a blue-skinned alien, and this wasn’t just a desert island. It was a whole new galaxy.

Can you provide the sequels? There’s not enough humor in the world, I think.

Illodiini, I may be mistaken, but I don’t believe they’re available yet. I’ll keep an eye out.

just wondering, why upload 32kbps?
September 24th, 2019
Svartmann, because 32kbps is perfectly adequate for a guy sitting behind a microphone reading a book. It’s been my default Audible download quality for almost 20 years. I’ve never felt the need to change it. In my opinion, upping the “quality” on an audiobook does little more than unnecessarily increasing the file size.

cause 32kbs is more than good enough. Try it yourself with some audio book, try samples of each quality and see how much you can tell the difference.
Believe me, if there was a big enough difference people would not upload at 32kbs, which I’m pretty sure audible does as standard.

Thanks. Completely agree with 32kbs being enough.

Bump on 32

Small file sizes, quicker to download and for anyone above 25yrs old, possibly as good as 128kbps in regards to clarity. 32Kbps seems to be custom-built for audiobook downloads. Audible used to SELL these books for download at 8kbps to 32 Kbps, when I joined, describing 32Kbps as an Enhanced.

Do you mean to say that most of those above age 25 are unable to hear the noisome sound artifacts present in other, prior, releases? That would explain a great deal!!

If you like this you should listen to Hard Luck Hank! Hands down my favorite space humor series.

@Delf338 speak for yourself, I’m way older than 25 and I still have perfect hearing. Yes I agree, one narrator, 32 is mostly fine. But anything with sound effects, full cast or back ground music needs to be higher than 32, always. As for audible, if it d/ls as 32, 64 or even some now at 128, well leave as is with a lossless rip of whatever it is, just don’t downgrade to 32 or upgrade to higher than you download it as, you can’t improve on quality be increasing the bitrate higher or lowering it to 32 if it was originally higher.
As for the uploader, well it’s their choice and if we don’t like it, well lump it. Thx for your sharing @SilentSargon, especially including the ebooks as well.

Just checked my other great share site, and the original AAX file was 128kb and not the usual 64kb or 32kb.A LOSSLESS conversion using inAudible would make it as it was intended to be, I haven’t listen to it yet so I don’t know why the bitrate is that high but space (for me) is not a issue so I’ll be grabbing the lossless one @128kb and check out the difference with my over 25 year old ears, lol. I’ve always preferred to keep the ABs at the original bitrate, but that’s my personal opinion and I’m not preaching for higher file sizes, each to his own.
On saying all this crap, thx once again for your share and had it been the only source, then 32kb would have been just as great as the lossless m4b.

@jsmithers366 I must admit that I tend to steer away from full cast and audio sound effects. As I keep having to rewind to hear what was said amidst the background blaster fire - lol.
I am pushing 60 and an ex flying instructor and spent most of my life around jet aircraft. So my 25yr old quip was second hand from my Dr’s opinion on hearing loss against age.
So to please all, I think I will upload in True decrypt at the max download audible provide and leave it to others to hash the files as they wish, All said, all can download Inaudible.
