The only difference between the UK and the US versions is that the UK references the Philosopher’s Stone, the US the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Is there any benefit to downloading the headphone surround mixes other than the smaller file sizes? Most of the time I do listen with headphones, but I occasionally to play audiobooks on a 5.1 system.

It depends on you headphones.
If you are listening on Atmos enabled headphones then no, however most headphones are not Atmos enabled in which case the Atmos track downmixes to stereo, so in that case, yes.

Tip: If you are playing on iPhone, and want to know whether Dolby Atmos audio is supported, you should see ‘Dolby Atmos’ beneath the full-screen volume slider. (5.1 Surround will display as ‘Multichannel’.) This works with Airpods (3rd Gen or better) and Airpod Pros (1st Gen or better). With Dolby Atmos or Multichannel you should turn on Spatial Audio in the system volume settings with supported Airpods. I have tested this with both Plex and Audiobookshelf using several audiobook apps - Audiobookshelf (ABS official app), Prologue (Plex & ABS), AudioBooth (ABS), Clean (ABS), Audra (ABS). They all work.
It is worth adding that PrettyRandom’s Headphone Binaural Surround versions will display as “Stereo” beneath the volume control since the binaural 3D audio is pre-encoded and not handled by iOS itself. For the headphone surround version, I think it is probably best to turn off Spatial Audio if it is currently enabled. In my experience it sounds better when you do so.

Also if you are listening on a Windows PC you need make sure ‘Windows Sonic for Headphones’ is off & if you listening to the headphone surround version using iTunes check ‘Sound Enhancer’ is off too.

Is it only me or this file is seen as corrupt by Smart Audiobook Player on Android (with the Shield Pro to play it in Atmos with my speakers)? The other Dolby Harry Potter Audiobooks work fine but this is “corrupt”. I have tried to convert it with the help of Claude but no cigar. I can play the file with VLC but the chapters are not seen correct. What could cause this?

I don’t have an Android device, but VLC on my PC plays it fine, chapters all present and correct.
A couple of things I’d try, delete the file on the phone & then re-import it. If that doesn’t work try installing VLC on your phone & use that to listen to the book.
And finally as a last resort, delete the file entirely and re-download the torrent.
